Frequently Asked Questions

Is coaching the same as mentoring or therapy?

No. Coaching focuses on the present, what you would like to have happen in the future, and how you can make that a reality. I take an integrative and transformative approach, which means I'm able to offer you an opportunity to safely work on the level of who you are and what drives you, as well as to support you in reaching your goals.

In its purest form, coaching is non-directive and a pure coach will not make suggestions. Mentoring is different in that it involves someone with experience in a particular area guiding someone else who is less experienced in that area. It typically has relevance in careers and the workplace. I can offer mentoring in areas in which I have professional experience, as well as coaching. If we think a blend of mentoring and coaching might be helpful to you we will specifically contract around that.

Coaching is not therapy, although it should provide a safe space in which you can explore and express yourself. As a rule of thumb, if the past is causing you deep distress or stopping you from living in the present, therapy may be helpful to you. Coaching is future focussed.

How does your service work?

I offer a complimentary exploratory call for us to discuss what you are looking for, how working together might help you, see whether we could form a partnership which would serve you, and to answer any questions you may have. If we then agree to work together, we will contract for the number of sessions we believe would be appropriate.

Typically I work with people for six fortnightly sessions initially. If you want to contract for a longer period of sessions, or to arrange more sessions later (perhaps because life has evolved for you or to tackle new challenges) then that's possible. Equally, if you prefer to meet at a different frequency or to have a shorter number of sessions, we can discuss what would work best for you.

Would we meet in person or is it all on-line?

I typically work on-line via video call. I am based in Kent, in the UK, and am open to meeting in person if we can find a mutually convenient location within Kent or London. Most people like the fact they can dial in for an online session from anywhere.

How can I contact you?

You can reach me by email at wyndhamhousecoaching@gmail.com, or book an exploratory call using the button at the bottom of the page.

How much does it cost?

I operate a sliding scale as I want coaching to be genuinely accessible. I also offer some pro bono sessions and the opportunity to "pay it forward". Head over to the fees section of this site to see my current fee schedule, and don't hesitate to contact me if you'd like to discuss further.
